Awning Room on Wander Tears Vaga
We just received the room and set it up in the driveway this afternoon. It fits the Wander Tears Vaga very nicely. We were advised we might want to turn it 180 degrees from the way it's designed and we may do that to seal it better against rain and bugs. We found no instructions in the bag or online, but we figured it out.
Cool, but not for everybody..
Probably fits great on a subaru or a 4runner, or a handful of other rigs. If you have a full size, lifted rig, consider the sidewalls might not get the ground without fabricating some brackets. The 8' camps 2 comfortably. You have to fold up base camp to take your vehicle anywhere. I use the awning a bunch and love it. I use the room for days at the beach. For anything longer than a day, we set up an 8 person tent that cost half as much.
It's been through the wringer
I am so impressed with the durability of my awning and awning room. I've been sleeping in my van and working remotely out of this room for about 3 weeks now, camped up on the N. California coast. This month has brought some crazy weather. Torrential downpours with 55+ mph winds on multiple days and nights. This thing has really taken a beating, but it doesn't show any wear or damage. There have been times where the roof is sagging by over a foot with rain (I have to push the roof up frequently to drain the rain off) but not a drop has gotten inside. It's definitely as waterproof as advertised. If anything does happen to this, I will buy another one with no hesitation. I did stake it down with 4 extra guy lines, and it hasn't budged. The two lines that are included seem really heavy duty, but if you're going to be in 55+mph winds I'd recommend adding a few more for extra security. I used the kind of stakes that screw into the ground, and I'm confident this thing isn't going anywhere.
