Landscape photographer and outdoor enthusiast Kaylor Dastrup is always on the chase for something new. Whether it is a backcountry photo, a roadside sunset, or the world's best quesadilla you can always find him up to something. It is no surprise that a majority of his life has been spent on the road, in the mountains in search of new sites and experiences. The mountains have become the place that he is able to find himself and truly soak it all in. 

As a kid, Kaylor went through some traumatic experiences that taught him how to believe in himself. He learned that the uphills of life are what have lead him to be the person that he is today. He was able to take those experiences and apply them to the way he sees climbing mountains today whether they be literal or figurative mountains.

Married, Father to two children, and working a full-time job doesn't allow for much time to check off adventurous bucket list items. When Kaylor got his opportunity to check off a personal bucket list photo he knew exactly where he was headed, Sawtooths, Idaho. While prepping for the early morning hike into the location, Kaylor makes sure to stop and have some fun along the way.

The photo of the sawtooth range from Alice Lake is one that has haunted Kaylor for years. The ruggedness of the mountain peaks and its physical distance from everyday life are all parts of what pulled him in to this specific location. A 2AM start at the trailhead followed by a 13+ mile roundtrip hike made for a challenge of getting a shoot. But this is what Kaylor lives for and early mornings are his forte.
